A-Z Projects

This is one of my ideas for A-Z Projects - Decode
The idea is from another idea - Symmetry
I created a symmetry typography first and then applied it on the Mug.
I used a special paint called "Thermochromic Pigment" which is a kind of temperature sensitive paint.

Symmetry typography. I realized it was a bit difficult to read,
so I changed another way to present it.

So, next time when you borrow a mug from others,
be careful what the owners use their mugs for :)

A-Z Projects

Chosen word: Negative space
Format: Wine bottle labels design

Inspired by the classic negative space graphic, I recreated a new wine-glass one. It's like two people having good time chatting with each other between a glass of wine.

A-Z Project

(I know it's been ages i havent updated....^^")

This project is basically choosing a word for each letter, so we are asked to choose 26 words and produce 26 ideas relate to the words we choose...

and i choose ORIGAMI for O
below are the images that i create for ORIGAMI
My idea is to use the paper with the same pattern as the background to fold a relative figure.

Final Outcome:
I decided to use these photos as wallpapers to be my final formats.
So I built a model of four rooms by cardboard.
I called it a "Paper Zoo"

I actually quite enjoy this project cuz I love origami. It's just amazing and fascinating that a piece of paper can become anything!!!

Year 1 Major Project

This is the major project of my first academic year - to make a visual research book about London. There're 12 chapters which are 12 workshops we attended during last two months, they are all about graphic design basics and we use these design basics to create images, designs relative to London.

I know its not perfect and I'm not really satisfied with this final outcome as well because I know I can do it better. I've been thinking about to post it here or not, but it's time for me to face it and give a reflection talking about what I've been thinking about this project. I wont say I don't like this project, Its really a great experience for me to edit my own visual book. Those staying up late night will be my best memories in this year. Although it doesn't come out quite good at the first time, I promise my self to make a better one next. Through this project, I realize that I'm still not enough and still need to keep learning and improve myself. I should see more and do more research next before starting any of my works so that I can collect more ideas and won't limit myself or get stuck easily.

VCT Timeline Project

This is the VCT timeline project i did for this term. My topic is about Louis Vuitton's patterns. The process was quite struggle but fun! The struggle part in this project for me was the layout things. I was stuck on coming up with an creative and interesting layout for a whole week. Although i shouldnt focus too much on the layout but the research and the essay part, since im a graphic design student, designing a good layout is also what i want to do it well! Before this one as u can see below, I came up with many ideas, but neither of them could satisfy me.  Finally, after discussing about my timeline with classmates and my friends, they did help! So when you are stuck, talk to your friends, ideas always just jump out suddenly! :) Below is how it looks in the final. My Louis Vuitton handbag! :)

Page 1 - the eassay part. I put the timeline on the classic Louis Vuitton Damier canvas. On the handbag, Im gonna cut some holes, so the patterns from page 2 can be seen through the holes. i was thinking about printing page 1 on the tracing paper, but consider about those texts mixing with the patterns, probably difficult to read, so i gave up the idea.

page 2 - the Louis Vuitton patterns. What a colourful handbag!!!

Airside Project

The second storyboard

And I made an illustration book for it. really wanna do animation, but currently i dont know how to work with Flash. Thinking about learning in eater holiday, so in the future, i can make my characters starts moving and dancing.

Airside Project

For Airside project, I made three stories. Below is the first storyboard.

The format I chose for this story is POP UP book.
The reason i chose to do pop up book is because i wanted to create an empty lonely 3D space in my story book to make my reader feel the such space. Below are how it looks:
