Poster Design

This is another poster design for a competition by DON'T PANIC.

Brief:
Established in London in 1991, Laurence King Publishing is now recognised as one of the world's leading publishers of books on the creative arts.
This year Laurence King is celebrating 20 years of independent publishing and they're giving the chance to design some celebratory artwork for the occasion.
To celebrate the anniversary, the theme of work should be based on the number '20'. Can interpret it broadly
Also, the design must incorporate the Laurence King 20 Years logo

Description:
Sandglass is the metaphor of time. It also means that time keeps going. And the number "20" show that it's been 20 years that Laurence King has published independently. A lot of Books dropping through the hole of sandglass one by one also means that Laurence King will keep publishing good books for readers.

Poster Design

This is the poster design I worked for a music event called SENCITY.
The theme of this event this year in London is CIRCUS.
So I combined the two elements together: old fashion circus feeling + Music
This design will be printed as an A5 size flyer and A3 size poster, will probably be printed larger size as bus stop poster if the budget is enough.

Year 1 Major Project

This is the major project of my first academic year - to make a visual research book about London. There're 12 chapters which are 12 workshops we attended during last two months, they are all about graphic design basics and we use these design basics to create images, designs relative to London.

I know its not perfect and I'm not really satisfied with this final outcome as well because I know I can do it better. I've been thinking about to post it here or not, but it's time for me to face it and give a reflection talking about what I've been thinking about this project. I wont say I don't like this project, Its really a great experience for me to edit my own visual book. Those staying up late night will be my best memories in this year. Although it doesn't come out quite good at the first time, I promise my self to make a better one next. Through this project, I realize that I'm still not enough and still need to keep learning and improve myself. I should see more and do more research next before starting any of my works so that I can collect more ideas and won't limit myself or get stuck easily.

My Typography

with balls

Recently, I've kept thinking about designing my own typography and put it in my London project book, but was too busy working with my book, so i didn't do so. Besides, my brain couldn't think about other things else except coming up with ideas for the chapters. Since I've done all my projects of this term, finally my brain can work properly, so i started to create these alphabet from last night. My ideas is from Yoga position ( I used to do yoga when i was in Taiwan ). i know some letters like C, E, K and Q look weird, but if u try to look from different angle, it will make sense. :)
